HB 212
Expungement Changes
This bill prevents government employers from asking job applicants about any expunged criminal history. The intent of an expungement is to effectively say that the underlying criminal history never existed because the person served their time and fulfilled all the other requirements for expungement. It also allows any job applicant with an expunged criminal history to answer any question about their expunged history as if it never existed. This will allow people to get back to work, qualify for loans, and other important things without the constant burden of their criminal history following them.
