SB 96
Medicaid Expansion Adjusments
This bill creates new systems to help maintain the original purpose of Medicaid, as well as protects Utah taxpayers from expected overruns in costs due to Proposition 3. The bill reduces Medicaid expansion’s eligibility from 138 to 100% of the federal poverty line. The bill would also establish work requirements for able bodied adults, which will ensure that scarce public resources are focused on those who need it most and guard against Medicaid dollars being diverted from the most vulnerable in the traditional Medicaid population.
